It’s always great to work with new clients, especially ones that are helping to breathe new life into neglected areas.
Reis Construct is working with Henley Homes to build 155 new houses on the Grade II listed site of Manchester’s historic Barnes Hospital.
Located just off the A34 close to Stockport, this scheme will create lovely new homes, townhouse and apartments in and around the original Barnes Hospital building. You can read more about Henley Homes and it’s plans for the development here.
Danzer Limited has provided 11 site welfare units for Reis’ on-site team in a contract worth over £100,000. These will provide a large and roomy OpenSpace meeting room and an OpenSpace canteen with kitchen servery area.
There is also a toilet block with disabled facilities and an office for sub-contractors which have been divided into three separate office spaces.
In an unusual twist we have also been asked to supply respite units to allow a 24 hour presence along with an additional shower and 3 single toilet units.
The Hospital was built in 1875 by Robert Barnes and operated throughout the world wars, caring for injured soldiers and patients with tuberculosis and yellow fever.
It was later used for older patients and stroke sufferers and closed in 1999 after healthcare budget cuts.
