Our hire business has had a great start to 2017 with a full order book in January.
At the back end of 2016 we achieved an all-time high when monthly turnover for our hire business exceeded £400k, which if it continues will put us on target to exceed our 2015/16 hire turnover of £4.3m.
The strength and continued success of our hire business is down to lots of repeat business from many loyal customers in both the house building and construction sectors.
One of these customers is Hochteif UK with whom we have worked many times over the years. Most recently it was to provide them with welfare facilities to support the repair work they did following the Barton Bridge collapse near Manchester.
This year we have been commissioned by them once again to provide welfare facilities to support a significant development project they are undertaking at Tottenham Hale Station in London.
We have delivered and installed 14 units, stacked 7 on 7 to create two floors of accommodation which includes a canteen, office, drying room, meeting rooms, toilet and washroom facilities. The units will remain on site to service the team over the next 18 months to 2 years.
Due to the nature of the project the units needed to be located adjacent to the track so clearly the strictest safety measures needed to be in place to ensure the service of the line and passenger safety was not compromised in any way.
We made sure that the hiab lifting equipment was carefully located so that it could not, under any circumstances, fall across the track.
The units were safely lifted into place and will remain on site, providing office space and welfare facilities until the project is complete in 2018.
