Following on from our recent work with Avery railfreight we are back trackside with a new commission for another major rail firm.

AV Danzer has manufactured a six module, steel office building which will be located in a siding alongside a major rail warehouse development in Doncaster. The commission is from new client Nobel Construction which is building the train warehouse for global rail transport firm Electro-Motive. The warehouse will be used to provide temporary housing for the trains when they are out of commission and undergoing servicing.

Whilst the warehouse will house the trains Danzer’s building provide 173 sq m of space which will comfortably accommodate the numerous employees, contractors and sub-contractors who will be working in the warehouse on the engines.

The anti-vandal OpenSpace building consists of a meeting room, reception, mess rooms, office facility, changing rooms with showers and toilets. It also features environmentally friendly details such as passive infra-red lighting controls, double glazing, improved wall and floor insulation.

Commenting on the work AV Danzer’s Bill Holloway said: “The speed at which we could fulfill the brief was an important consideration for Nobel’s. It took us just three weeks to manufacture the building at our site in Nottingham from the point of commission to delivery on site. Another couple of days to install it and within the month the building was fully operational.”
