This years National Apprenticeship Week focuses on the theme of Build the Future: Train, Retain and Achieve. The week is designed to celebrate the apprenticeship community, promote the benefits of apprenticeships, and showcase the resilience of apprentices and employers during the pandemic.

We will be sharing the stories of our Apprentices with you during the week, beginning today with Dylan Madden who is our Apprentice Electrican based at our hire depot in Manchester.

National Apprenticeship Week 2021 Dylan

Dylan has worked for us for just over a year and is studying for the EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification and then plans to progress onto an NVQ. Working under the supervision and guidance of our three qualified electricians (Gareth, Tom and Jack), Dylan works to repair and re-wire the existing hire fleet and helps to install new projects on our client’s sites.

When we asked Dylan what he has enjoyed and learnt during his time at AVDanzer he said, “I have enjoyed testing and repairing the appliances and heaters and working on a customer’s site in Liverpool where I helped to install some floodlighting. I am learning at lot from Gareth, Tom and Jack and finding that my college theory work is easier to understand as I am doing practical work too”.

Manchester Depot Manager, Natasha McQuillan says “we are delighted to be able to support Dylan with his ambition to become a qualified electrician and have been very glad of another pair of hands during what has been an incredibly busy year for the depot. We regularly meet with Dylan’s supervisor from college to discuss Dylan’s progress and how we can help him to achieve his future objectives”.
