Collins Earthworks is one of the leading groundwork contractors in the country, having been involved with major land development projects including the multi-million-pound East Midlands and Rugby Gateway schemes. With its distinctive yellow and blue livery, the fleet of Collins Earthworks vehicles is often the first on-site at some of the country’s most important infrastructure developments.

We are delighted to have supported them for many years by providing welfare accommodation for the large team of staff which is working on these major capital projects, undertaking site clearance, demolition, bulk earthworks and ground stabilisation. These schemes can be vast and with very few facilities nearby, so they have turned to AVDanzer to provide a solution.

Over the last five years we have provided a number of welfare units, including the recent delivery of two 36 x 10 ft units. These provide satellite on-site accommodation facilities, including office space, kitchen and toilets as well as rest areas for the staff. They allow the teams to have a break and relax in quality surroundings and give the site foreman space to manage the operations and complete paperwork.

As the teams move on to new groundwork projects across the region the units move with them from site to site. Built to an extremely high standard the team have reported that they are enduring the test of time well.

As the company has grown, it has also now expanded from its original base in Kirkby, Nottingham to a new headquarters based at Ripley which AVDanzer has provided. A four-module OpenSpace building has been installed which includes a canteen, toilet, meeting room and open plan office facilities. As the photographs show it provides a modern, functional space for the team to work right at the heart of the site.
