AVDanzer made a return visit to MCFC’s Football Academy at the Etihad Stadium recently to take part in a charity 5-a-side football match which raised over £6,000 for City in the Community.
Back in 2012 we supported BAM Construction during the building of the Academy by providing the welfare accommodation for the construction team. Now, as part of BAM’s Enhancing Lives Challenge, a team from AVDanzer was invited back to help raise funds for the City in the Community Foundation.
It is a fabulous charity that engages with over 200,000 people of all ages throughout Manchester, Tameside and Stockport and the money goes towards making a real difference to people in the local area.
Having a few avid Manchester City fans in the company certainly stirred up a lot of interest in the event and we put forward an impressive squad, captained by Simon Darby.
Unfortunately, we didn’t lift the trophy on the day but we did have a great time and the lads played really well as a team. A strong support crew from the Denton office also turned out to provide much needed encouragement which consisted of mainly supporting loudly from the sidelines.
Congratulations to the eventual winners TMJ Contractors and to AA Projects for winning the Europa League.
We’d better start getting in some training for next year’s event I think!
