Social distancing requirements, resulting from the Covid 19 pandemic, has led to even more AVDanzer portable modular buildings being required on the vast Wood Wharf development in London.
Canary Wharf’s new district, Wood Wharf, will broaden and extend the Canary Wharf Estate with the addition of over 3,300 new homes, restaurants, office and retail space which will all be interconnected by high quality public areas in this waterside community. It is estimated that completion of this new area will be in 2023.
Canary Wharf Group (CWG), who is responsible for this urban regeneration project, is a valued and long-standing client of AVDanzer. A triple storey, portable modular building offering welfare facilities for some of CW Groups 2,100 personnel was previously purchased from us, and we already supplied and serviced dozens of toilet units around this 23-acre site.
Following the new social distancing requirements, CWG needed additional canteens, drying rooms and toilet blocks to enable their many personnel and contractors to be safe whilst on site. To help with this, AVDanzer has installed a two storey, 14 bay Open Space complex for them, consisting of a ground floor canteen and first floor drying room. The canteen has screens installed to aid hygiene and assist social distancing. In addition, over twenty other AVDanzer portable modular buildings provide socially distanced canteens, drying rooms and toilet facilities.
Our relationship with CWG has not just been us supplying our own units to them, we have also been able to assist them by relocating some of their units to other areas of the site, as work progresses and they require accommodation in different areas.
